This High Output diode board has a huge heat sink for the larger capacity diodes that gives better cooling to ensure maximum reliability.
The diode board comes complete with new wiring to enable you to get rid of brittle, old original wiring that can limit charging performance and cause overheating.
There are 2 standard mounting methods used by BMW to fit diode boards.
1. Mounted on rubbers. (The earth wires supplied with the diode board are used for bikes with the rubber mounts to earth from lower mount MARKED WITH “G” to the stator bolts)
2. Directly mounted to raised pillars on the front engine casing. (No earth wires required as the board is earthed to solid pillars)
This is the same diode board that comes with the 450W, 33 amp charging system kit that is definitely over engineered compared to the 20 amp stock system.
